Secondary teachers are back on strike today, in the middle of NCEA exam season

Secondary teachers are back on strike today, in the middle of NCEA exam season

PPTA members nationwide are walking off the job for two hours this afternoon.

They overwhelmingly rejected the latest 2.5 percent pay offer in September.

Today's strike is the final stage in a series of planned actions, including a full-day strike on October 23, a ban on extracurricular activities, and rolling year-level stoppages.

The union's set to resume bargaining next week.
