Fury over the theft of drugs from an air ambulance helicopter over the weekend

The medical supplies were taken on Saturday night while it was parked up at Taieri Airfield.

Helicopters Otago CEO Graeme Gale is calling the thief a clown, and that his actions came close to creating a life-threatening situation.

He says crew could have easily gone out on a mission without realising their gear was gone.

Gale says the drugs are of no use to anyone else, and is urging they be returned.
