Vittoria Ceretti finds it "annoying" when women dating famous men are known as "the girlfriend of" their partner

The model, 26, who is dating Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio, 50, made the remark while publicly addressing their relationship for the first time since the pair were first linked in August 2023

In a new cover story for Vogue France's April 2025 issue, she referred to Leonardo as a "very, very famous actor" - but without mentioning him by name.

Vittoria did reveal she met the actor in Milan but declined to share further details.

When asked whether she had seen one of his most famous films, she said: "It's an iconic film..." in reference to 'Titanic'.

Speaking about the attention that comes with dating someone well known, Vittoria added: "As soon as you're in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become 'girlfriend of' - or 'boyfriend of', for that matter.

"And that can be extremely annoying. Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so's girlfriend who was so-and-so's ex.

"So it's not nice to think that you can't love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you."

Addressing what Vogue France described as dating 'one of the most desired people in the world", she said: "It's something you learn. If what you're experiencing is real, if you know you love each other, then there's no reason to be alarmed. Because love protects and gives confidence."

Vittoria and Leonardo have kept their relationship largely private since it began nearly two years ago. But they have been seen on several occasions, including during a vacation in St Barts in December 2024. The couple have travelled together frequently, and in August 2024 were photographed yachting off the coast of Sardinia.

They were first linked when seen getting iced coffee and ice cream in Santa Barbara, California.

Vittoria has also been spotted with reminders of Leonardo when they were apart.

In October 2024, she was seen backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show using a phone that appeared to feature a throwback image of the actor.

In April 2024, the couple were seen dining with friends at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. A source told People magazine at the time: "He seems to really like her."

Before being linked to Ceretti, Leonardo was reported to have dated model Gigi Hadid from September 2022 to February 2023.
