Macaulay Culkin thinks his father "deserves" to be estranged from all his children and grandchildren

The 'Home Alone' actor hasn't spoken to Christopher 'Kit' Culkin for around 30 years and while his dad also has no relationship with his siblings, Macaulay - who has sons Dakota, three, and two-year-old Carson with fiance Brenda Song - believes he doesn't think he ever did anything wrong

Explaining he hasn't spoken to his dad in decades, he told 'Sibling Revelry' podcast hosts Kate and Oliver Hudson: "Oh, he deserves it too. Yeah. He's a man who, he had seven kids, and now he has four grandkids. Yeah. And, none of them want anything to do with him."

Macaulay went on to insist he'd think he had done something wrong if he was in a similar position but added: "I have more than an inkling that he does not feel that way."

The 'My Girl' star branded his dad "narcissistic" and "abusive" and was willing to risk arrest when a judge said he "had to do visits" with his dad amid Kit's custody battle with his mother Patricia Brentrup.

He said: "I wanted nothing to do with my f****** father. Like, he was just the worst.

"I told my lawyer, I said, 'Yeah, I'm not doing that.' He said, 'Well, you know, you'll be in contempt of court and this and that.' I go, 'Okay. Well, how about this? I dare the judge to put me in jail for not wanting to visit [my] abusive father. I actually I'm gonna double down on that. I double dare him to arrest the most famous kid in the world."

The 44-year-old actor vowed from a young age to treat his own kids differently to the way his father - who was also his manager in the early days of his career - was with him.

He said: "It's one of my earliest memories of him was [thinking], 'When I grew up, this is how I'm not gonna be with my kids.'

"Now that I have kids of my own, it's like, you know, it kicks up some dust.

"I kinda go, you know, like, I can't believe he was like that. He had all these lovely kids. It's crazy."

These days, Macaulay is "probably in the best place of [his] entire life" but is unsure he and Brenda want to have more children.

He said of the possibility: "Oh, we'll see about that. Well, you know, we always take the can down the road, you know, and so we should talk about it next year, that kind of thing, you know.

"Obviously, right now, we're actually in a spot where we actually have some really great stability. Both kids are in preschool right now. And we have a good routine. Brenda really starting to feel like herself again."
