A$AP Rocky has compared therapy to getting "psychic readings"

The 36-year-old rapper/actor has confessed he's never talked with a councellor because he doesn't see "the point" and he finds it hard to trust a stranger with his problems.

He told Elle magazine: "My outlook on therapy is so pessimistic, it's not even funny. I might get killed for this, but I put therapists in the same box as psychic readings.

"I look at it like, 'Yo, if you don't share the same experiences, what's the point of me telling a stranger my business for an hour straight, for them to just say, 'Okay, well, how did that make you feel?'"

However, he admits fellow rap star Jay Z provides a kind of therapy because so many people go to him to talk about their problems.

A$AP Rocky added: "I think Jay-Z is a Black therapist. A lot of people come to him with their problems."

The music star went on to admit he's happy in his life as a dad of two with his partner Rihanna with one more baby on the way. He's embracing ageing and he's able to see how "fortunate" he is.

He added: "I'm about to be 40 in a few years. I'm ready to embrace that motherf*****. I got these pretty gray hairs growing. I'm ready."

A$AP Rocky also spoke about the couple's new baby - due later this year - and revealed he's is "praying" for a girl after previously welcoming two boys.

He told the publication: "I hope it's a girl. I really do. We're praying for a girl. Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby. The second time, we didn't want to know.

"Third time, we don't want to know until, you know. I feel like it's going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. "You can tell from the experience. I hope it's a baby girl, man. I need that."

Rihanna - who is mom to RZA, three, and Riot, two, with A$AP Rocky - previously admitted she's "always wanted" a baby girl.

When asked about the sex of her unborn baby, the 37-year-old pop star told Extra: "You have to wait and see. Oh, my gosh, are you guys going to be so hurt if it's a boy?"

Extra's Terri Seymour then replied: "I think we're secretly hoping you have a girl ... because you've got your two sweet, sweet boys."

Rihanna subsequently admitted that she'd love to have a baby girl, even though she's relished the experience of raising her two boys.

She explained: "I've always wanted a girl. God knows best, right? And I love my boys." Rihanna also confirmed that her unborn baby's name will begin with the letter R, describing it as a "tradition". She said: "I mean, of course. It's tradition at this point."
