Olivia Palermo feels confident in outfits which "blend strength and elegance"

The 39-year-old socialite loves to pair different contrasts for a look that feels both "powerful" and "authentic" to her own values.

She told Harper's Bazaar UK: "I feel most confident when I'm wearing something that blends strength and elegance. Structure with softness, boldness with a touch of romance. When those contrasts meet, it feels powerful but still very authentic to me."

Olivia believes it is important for people to keep their style "deeply personal" rather than follow trends because it is much more powerful to ignore the fashion "rulebook" and be true to yourself.

Asked what her work has taught her about style, she said: "That style is deeply personal-it's about confidence and self-expression, not trends. My work has taught me that when you dress in a way that feels true to who you are, or style your home, it resonates far more than following any rulebook. I'm excited to keep you updated on a new project I'm launching soon with these same sentiments...

"I've always admired women who are timeless yet fearless in their fashion choices-Audrey Hepburn, of course, but also people who reinvent themselves while staying true to their essence."

The former City star has "always" been hands-on with her own wardrobe, even if she is working with a stylist.

She said: "I'm very hands-on. I enjoy collaborating with stylists and designers, but I've always believed that styling is such a personal expression-it has to feel like you.

"Today was a collaboration, but I made sure to choose elements that I know I'll feel comfortable and confident in. I always style myself, it's something I've done since the beginning of my career."

And Olivia believes fashion is far more important than just clothes.

She said: "Fashion is so much more than clothes-it's storytelling, identity, and empowerment. It reflects culture and sparks dialogue.

"Supporting young designers like Richard Quinn is about championing voices that are shaping how we see and express ourselves in the future.

"What we wear has meaning-it's a language without words. I'm here to help promote and support those young voices now more than ever."
