NZTA has made announcements about the next step in public transport for Auckland's Northwest

NZTA has made announcements about the next step in public transport for Auckland's Northwest

Its proposing a busway along State Highway 16 that will connect Brigham Creek near Whenuapai to the city centre.

The plans include a park and ride station at Brigham Creek and stations along the route at Westgate, Royal Road, Lincoln Road and Te Atatu.

It will also be connected to existing stops.

Transport Minister Simeon Brown says with more than 100-thousand extra people expected to live in northwest Auckland by 2051, there needs to be more transport choices.
