The Government's set to look at allowing greater use of road tolls

The Government's set to look at allowing greater use of road tolls

The 43 actions in its fourth quarter plan include passing the Fast Track Approvals Bill, RMA reform and a National Infrastructure Agency.

Infrastructure New Zealand chief executive Nick Leggett thinks we need to change our mindset about tolling roads.

He says we're in a tight fiscal position -- and the money needs to come from somewhere.

Leggett says it's also about fairness and equity -- those who use those roads should pay a bit more for them.
