Competing in the top tier for the first time in eight years - the South Canterbury driver produced a best result of sixth on stage six as mud, ice and fog continued to challenge the world's best.
Paddon is 23 seconds down on the driver immediately in front of him - and more than seven minutes down on overall leader Oliver Solberg.
