A fuel saving two-stop gamble has paid off for Scott Dixon

A fuel saving two-stop gamble has paid off for Scott Dixon

He's pounced on an error by IndyCar series leader Alex Palou to win the latest event in Ohio.

The win is the 59th of Dixon's career - and first of the year.

Liam Lawson has failed to reach the end of the first lap of Formula One's British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Starting 15th on the grid, the Racing Bulls driver had his left rear tyre clipped at turn five by Haas' Esteban Ocon, damaging the floor of his car.

McLaren's Lando Norris has beaten teammate Oscar Piastri - Nico Hulkenberg has come third, his maiden podium in 238 F1 starts.

Shane van Gisbergen leads the Nascar street race at Chicago through 40 of 75 laps.

He won the inaugural edition in 2023.

Golfer Kazuma Kobori has produced the best result of his career, finishing third at the latest European Tour event in Munich to earn 242 thousand dollars.

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the women's quarter-finals at Wimbledon, as have Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Laura Siegemund .

Taylor Fritz, Cam Norrie and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz are through in the men's draw.

The Mystics have beaten the Steel 56-52 in round nine of ANZ Premiership netball.

India have levelled the five-test cricket series against England with a 336-run victory at Edgbaston.

In Grenada , Australia have beaten the West Indies by 133 runs to take an unassailable 2-nil lead in the three-test series.

South Africa's Wiaan Mulder has scored an unbeaten 264 to set a record for a new test skipper and help his side to a 465 for four on the first day of the second match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

That is the highest score by a player in his first test innings as captain, eclipsing Graham Dowling's 239 for New Zealand against India in 1968.

Laurence Pithie has finished 113th on the second stage of cycling's Tour de France - Mathieu van der Poel won the leg and wears the yellow jersey.

The Sea Eagles have beaten the Rabbitohs 30-12 to wrap round 18 of league's NRL.

The play-off picture is complete in NBL basketball .

The Saints and the Rams have secured the top two seeds and will move straight into the semi-finals.

The eliminators see the Airs play the Whai and the Sharks meet the Tuatara.

The Junior Tall Blacks have come fourth at the under-19 basketball world championships, losing 91-87 to Slovenia in the bronze medal match at Lausanne.
