Ice has closed the South Island's State Highway 8 between Fairlie and Twizel

Ice has closed the South Island's State Highway 8 between Fairlie and Twizel

Other South Island state highways remain open, but motorists are urged to travel with caution through alpine passes and higher elevation highways.
