The full Hawke's Bay trails network has reopened for the public, after a two-year rebuild from Cyclone Gabrielle

The full Hawke's Bay trails network has reopened for the public, after a two-year rebuild from Cyclone Gabrielle

30 percent of the trail sustained major damage, requiring full closures and extensive reconstruction.

It totaled 58-kilometres of missing bridges, slips, and compromised stopbanks.

Trails Cycling Coordinator Vicki Butterworth says the reopening showcases the community's resilience.

She says the rebuilt, and reconnected loop is a testament of the strength of their community.
