Seven Land, Search and Rescue teams at the top of the South Island are going head to head today

Four volunteer responders from each Tasman-based Land Search and Rescue Group, from Marlborough to Hokitika, are competing in St. Arnaud.

They'll practice rescue operations, look at operational capabilities, and meet colleagues from neighbouring areas.

It's a first for the Upper South Island, emulating other competitions held in Southland and Canterbury.
