All Blacks great Dan Carter is trumpeting the quality of Super Rugby's opening round

Carter says he doesn't watch much nowadays but was energised, particularly with the speed at the breakdown.

Meanwhile, the All Blacks end-of-year tour will open against Ireland in Chicago on November 2 as part of their first grand slam campaign since 2010.

They meet Scotland on November 9, England on the 16th and Wales on the 23rd.
