All Blacks prop Tyrel Lomax's stop-start season could be over after re-injuring his thumb

He's been replaced by Fletcher Newell in the run-on side for tomorrow night's Rugby Championship test against the Wallabies in Perth.

Coach Scott Robertson says Lomax has broken the same digit from earlier in the year, but in a different place.

Meanwhile, Wallabies mentor Joe Schmidt's welcoming Will Skelton back into his side.

He missed the Eden Park match due to French club commitments.
