Phoenix Karaka has unveiled her plan to transform the Silver Ferns' leadership structure after an honest admission about the need for growth

The defender's been named captain for next month's Nation's Cup in England in the absence of Ameliaranne Ekenasio, with Grace Nweke and Kate Heffernan becoming co-vice captains.

Karaka says with the recent departures of Gina Crampton and Sulu Fitzpatrick, they've been guilty of being over-reliant on Ekenasio's leadership.
