Belated drama in the Indy 500 with Marcus Ericsson relegated from second to the back of the grid a day on from the race

Ericsson's Andretti Global drive had unapproved modifications added, as did the vehicle of teammate Kyle Kirkwood.

Ericsson will be credited with a 31st place finish while Kirkwood, who came home sixth, has been dropped to 32nd.

Prema Racing's Callum Ilott has been dumped to 33rd and last, after breaching rules around unsportsmanlike conduct and failure to meet gear regulations.

It means Kiwi Marcus Armstrong now finishes 18th, Scott Dixon in 20th and Scott McLaughlin who did not finish is bumped up into 30th.
