    A frustrating day in Nascar for Shane van Gisbergen


    He's finished 25th in the second play-off series event in Illinois.

    Van Gisbergen's prospects were thwarted after spinning out of control on lap 156 of 240 .



    Van Gisbergen was also penalised for speeding in pit lane.

    He's currently outside the play-off cut line - the field is trimmed from the top 16 drivers to 12 after next weekend's race at Tennessee.
