Ali Riley may have played her final match for the Football Ferns

In the wake of announcing her retirement at the end of the current club season in the US, the 163-cap defender has not been named in the New Zealand squad for three friendlies later this month.

Riley has been battling a long-term nerve injury and hasn't played a competitive match for more than a year.

The squad for two games away to Mexico and another against the USA in Kansas City includes six changes from the group that played Venezuela in June.

Senior defenders Katie Bowen and CJ Bott are among the returnees.
