Kathy Griffin is recovering after undergoing her third facelift

The 64-year-old comedian admitted the decision to go under the knife again was "vain" but insisted she just wants to look her best because she's photographed so often when she's not wearing make-up

During an appearance on the Talk Your Head Off podcast, Kathy explained: ""This is my third [facelift], yes ...

"I know that's so vain! I'm so vain for no reason. No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face. You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want ...

"I don't want you to come to care what I look like. I'm in Lululemons today for God's sake. I'm in my fat pants. I don't have dysmorphia ... I have a little."

She went on to add: "I think I'm just getting papped a lot because I'm alive. And what I mean by that is when you're at a certain age, you get paparazzi'd because you don't have make-up on. And when I work out, guess what? I don't have make-up on ... Very taut is also very true!"

Kathy revealed she also had surgery on her eyelids and her chin and the recovery has been tough.

She explained: "'There's a stitch in my chin, which you're probably not going to see unless you're under me, but not in that way ... I'm gonna be honest, it's painful. So these b****** that are like: 'It's like getting a tooth filled! It's nothing!' No, it's painful."

Kathy has been open about her past surgeries and previous admitted she underwent an operation on her nose when she was 26 years old because she believed it would help her find more work.

Speaking to People in 2009, she admitted: "I was told repeatedly: 'You would be pretty if it weren't for that nose. You'd work more if it weren't for that nose. Hey have you considered getting a nose job?' You would think I had a nose the size of Texas.

"I was young and impressionable and I was told that enough that I started to believe it, so I got a nose job."
