A-League football clubs are bracing for a period of significant belt-tightening as they wait to learn the extent of a reduced financial distribution for next season

The Australian Professional Leagues board is meeting today to ratify clubs' allocated funds for the 2024/25 campaign.

Club reportedly expect to receive between close to or just over $1 million for next season - a sizeable drop from the distribution of almost $4 million in 2018.
