He's in a tie for fifth after carding a second round three-under par 69 - taking him to 12-under overall, two shots behind the joint leaders, Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts and Australian Cameron John.

Fellow Kiwi Sam Jones is in a tie for 49th at six-under overall, while Kazuma Kobori is tied for 87th at four-under.
