The woman accused of killing her two young children - found years later in an Auckland storage unit - is likely to raise a defence of insanity

The woman accused of killing her two young children - found years later in an Auckland storage unit - is likely to raise a defence of insanity

45-year-old Hakyung Lee was extradited from South Korea after the bodies of two young children were found in a suitcase in Auckland in 2022.

It's believed they died in 2018.

Lee appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning and has requested to observe the trial remotely.

Following jury selection, Justice Geoffrey Venning stated they will likely have to determine if Lee was insane at the time of the deaths.

The crown are yet to open their case.
