    An expectation any charges laid in relation to the Pike River mine disaster will be connected to very specific actions by those responsible


    Our newsroom's revealed police believe they now have enough evidence to file manslaughter charges.

    It's been 15 years since 29 men failed to return from work at the mine - their bodies never recovered.

    Families' lawyer Nigel Hampton KC says police investigations ramped up, after re-entering the mine.

    He says they've gained further evidence about some specific acts of negligence, which can be linked directly to the explosion and deaths - equalling 29 manslaughter charges.
