Another active day of weather will bring storms, hail and showers to parts of the country today

Another active day of weather will bring storms, hail and showers to parts of the country today

Much of the South Island could see thunderstorms - along with large hail.

MetService Metereologist Silvia Martino says there's also a risk of storms in Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu and northern Wairarapa.

She says the hail isn't expected to be as large there, but there still could be small hail and showers for some places.

Martino says the weather should ease for most of the country tomorrow - but storms could persist in the central North Island and to the west of the South Island.
