BusinessDesk reports Melissa Bowen made protected disclosures in 2016 when she was a senior manager at the bank, which cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.
The Employment Relations Authority ruled the bank then acted in an unjustified manner through retaliation, breaching good faith and dismissing her unjustifiably.
It found Bowen lived in fear of retribution from BNZ and suffered chronic stress and psychological trauma.
She's now seeking a lifting of non-publication orders, so she can discuss what she saw.
