The Government wants to strike a balance in its bid to speed up infrastructure projects

The Government wants to strike a balance in its bid to speed up infrastructure projects

The changes include landowners having to submit objections to relevant decision-makers for faster processing, rather than the Environment Court.

It's expecting to introduce a draft bill to Parliament in May, with public feedback to come during the select committee process.

Land Information Minister Chris Penk says it's worth noting this process has been discussed for years.

Mr Penk says they're recognising best practice overseas, and if they can speed up the process of getting past talking, that'll benefit the community.
