Barbie Ferreira wanted to act from a young age

The 'Euphoria' star admits that she had heart set on the profession as a child even though she had no Hollywood connections to help her get ahead in the industry

Barbie told People: "I knew what I wanted from a very young age.

"I didn't grow up in a Hollywood family by any means or anything like that, so for me, I just had no plan B.

"I'm just a go-getter in this way where I really try. If I want to do something, I will try my hardest to make it happen and continue doing it."

She added: "I think really the confidence is just in knowing my worth and believe in myself, which is always hard. Every day I learn something new about me and my craft, and as I get older too, things happen."

The 'Bob Trevino Likes It' actor admits that she has found it hard to embrace that she needs to take risks in order to fulfil her dreams.

Ferreira said: "I'm the kind of person that has a very clear vision, and I try to stick to it as much as possible. I trust my gut a lot.

"That was something I had to work my way up into, the confidence, and be like, 'I know this isn't going to work, but I want to do it anyway just because I don't know enough.'

"As I get older and I get really into my craft and my career and I really know what I want at the end of the day.

"I just make sure that everything I do is toward that."

Barbie explained last month that she can be "overly sensitive" as an actress as she feels that performers can be seen as commodities.

The 28-year-old star said: "I also feel as an actor, maybe I'm a little bit overly sensitive and a little more dramatic than most people, so [a chosen family] is heavily needed.

"Especially, my personality type, I need to find people who really believe in me and don't see me as anything other than who I really am. It is to help me.

"So many people can see you as a money thing and they just throw you out when they don't want you anymore."
