A man accused of robbing a Lower Hutt dairy wielding a machete over the weekend's landed himself in court

A man accused of robbing a Lower Hutt dairy wielding a machete over the weekend's landed himself in court

CCTV footage on social media shows a masked man entering the Birch Street dairy on Saturday.

He waves a large machete at a staffer behind the counter - who then empties a shelf of cigarettes into the man's backpack.

Police confirm they've arrested a 32-year-old man - since charged with aggravated robbery.

He's appearing in District Court today.
