An intoxicated and incoherent Dunedin woman's admitted to causing a car crash, with a one-year-old in the back seat

Sarah Blair Chirnside appeared in court yesterday, and pleaded guilty to charges including assault in a family relationship, careless driving and assaulting police.

The ODT reports the 30-year-old was on a zero-alcohol licence when she crashed into a parked car on John Wilson Ocean Drive in March.

Police say Chirnside was unable to stand after the crash, and admitted to using drugs and consuming alcohol before driving.

She was remanded on bail until sentencing in November.
