    The front of a Martinborough cafe has been badly damaged after a front end loader rammed into it


    Police say they responded to the burglarly on Kitchener Street at 11.40pm, with a digger used to gain entry.

    A witness says the machine reversed and tried to ram the ATM at the front of the building.

    He says the driver then walked to a nearby bar and eatery, which locked its doors and made customers hide in the back.

    The witness says the man entered the cafe through the hole in the front.
