There's been a major emergency response in Paeroa late this afternoon

There's been a major emergency response in Paeroa late this afternoon

Two people are badly injured after several people were thrown down a bank in a serious crash.

Police were told of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 26 and the Paeroa-Tahuna Rd in Tirohia about 5 o'clock.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Josh Pennefather told our newsroom there were "a number of people down a bank from a vehicle".

He said they were working to get them up the bank with rescue baskets.

Hato Hone St John say they've treated one person in a serious condition and one in critical condition.
