Rachel Brosnahan sees similarities between herself and Lois Lane

The 34-year-old actress plays Lois in the new Superman movie, and Rachel admits that she's like her on-screen character in many ways

The Hollywood star told The Washington Post newspaper: "The scariest part about this project is that she feels the closest to myself I've ever played.

"Not in all the ways. I hesitate to say that, because I feel like that's so easily taken out of context."

Rachel has actually found herself feeling "a little intimidated" by the similarities.

The actress observed that Lois "prides herself on being ten steps ahead of everyone else".

Rachel - who stars in the new movie alongside David Corenswet, who plays Superman - explained: "When something like the deep love that she has for Superman comes in and knocks her off her feet, she can't figure out how to logic her way around it."

Rachel admits that she feels "a need to be perfect".

She said: "I understand the instinct to try to look around every corner. For me, that's always been more about feeling a need to be perfect - to be overprepared, so you don't make mistakes.

"It's one of the things that I love about acting: It forces you to upend that every day."

Meanwhile, Rachel recently slammed actors who "complain" about superhero movies.

The film star blasted actors and actresses who choose to appear in a superhero movie, and then rubbish the genre at a later date.

Speaking to Amanda Seyfried for Interview magazine, Rachel explained: "I don't know why people say yes only to then turn around and complain about it.

"Look, I don't want to s*** on other actors, but there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies and to look back on projects like this and pooh-pooh them. Do it or don't do it, and then stand by it."

Rachel feels particularly proud of the new Superman movie.

The film star explained: "The cool thing about it is that it's what you expect, and then there's more. Of course, there's great fighting and stunts and big monsters and good and evil."
