A limited number of New World club card accounts have been the target of a cyber attack

A limited number of New World club card accounts have been the target of a cyber attack

In a statement to customers the supermarket says scammers have attempted to gain access to accounts by trying commonly used passwords across many usernames.

It says accounts with weaker or reused passwords may have been accessed and it advises customers to change their password.

A Foodstuffs spokesperson says as a precaution, it's temporarily disabled the ability to redeem New World Dollars on affected accounts and removed stored payment tokens linked to them.

They say no personal credit card data's been compromised.
