Six people have been injured in a brawl - after three men were confronted doing burnouts in a Waikato township

Police were alerted to group fighting in Tahuna about 7.30pm yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Ben Norman says a person was assaulted after standing up to the trio, with other people trying to intervene.

All three fled - two on foot and one in a vehicle - and officers took a 22-year old man in custody, with two others still being sought.

He's charged with aggravated robbery and injuring with intent.
