Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt is unsurprised by the selection of English playmaker Owen Farrell in the British and Irish Lions side for tonight's second test in Melbourne

The inside back has been named on the bench, despite being a late inclusion to the squad following an injury to outside back Elliot Daly.

Farrell skippered and started at second-five for the Lions in their mid-week win over the First Nations and Pasifika XV .

Schmidt explains why Farrell will be a threat off the pine.
