Reba McEntire has paid tribute to her former stepson Brandon Blackstock following his death

Brandon, 48, passed away last week after a secret three-year battle with melanoma and Reba - who was married to Brandon's father Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015 - shared her grief in a comment on her son Shelby Blackstock's Instagram post

Shelby - Brandon's half brother - posted some pictures of Brandon and wrote: "Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son. Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family - funny, bright, and full of life - and he will be deeply missed.

"For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we'll never get to make together, but I know you'll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I'll feel your presence. And although it may annoy you, you'll have to watch me do it all just a little better, a little smoother, and - let's be honest - looking far more handsome than you ever could in the process.

"We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you."

Reba, 70, commented: "Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much," and added a number of heart and broken heart emojis.

Brandon's obituary, shared on buttefuneral.com, previously revealed that he died "peacefully" at home, surrounded by his family.

It stated: "Narvel Brandon Blackstock peacefully passed to be with the Lord on the morning of August 7th, 2025, after a brave and courageous 3-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded in his home by his family, who comforted him and lovingly handed him off to his grandparents in heaven, who welcomed him home."
