David Tamihere's past attempts to clear his name, will be a key focus at his last attempt in the Supreme Court today

David Tamihere's past attempts to clear his name, will be a key focus at his last attempt in the Supreme Court today

Tamihere was imprisoned for almost 20 years for the killings of young Swedish tourists Urban Hoglin and Heidi Paakkonen in the 1980s.

The NZ Herald's Jaime Lyth says yesterday, Tamihere's lawyer outlined the seven breaches, including false evidence, they believe led to a miscarriage of justice.

She says today's hearing will focus on his appeals made after more evidence and confirmation of perjury came to light.

Lyth says they'll look at whether these appeals should have been quashed.
