Meghan Trainor "cried so much" about the comments she received about her weight loss

The 31-year-old singer has candidly admitted she used medication Mounjaro to help her shed 60lbs and while has been feeling good about herself, "mean" comments online left her feeling devastated, though she's tying to avoid giving "power" to her trolls.

She told Extra: "I started posting pictures of myself recently, just like I always did.

"But for some reason a flame went off, and everyone got mad. Just like, 'Ew, I don't recognise you, you're just a walking nose.' Just crazy stuff, like mean.

"And I was like, 'This doesn't affect me.' Yes, it did. I cried so much.

"They got to me, and my therapist was like, 'You give them too much power. I wish I didn't.' So, I'm trying to learn at 31 not to give strangers power. It feels silly."

Meghan - who has Riley, four, and two-year-old Barry with husband Daryl Sabara - has used the negativity to inspire her new single, Still Don't Care, and her loved ones were left feeling emotional after hearing the personal track.

She said: "I wrote down what people have said to me online or in person. I was like, I don't know what's going on, but I wanted to write a big song about it that felt like, 'Leave me alone I don't care.' I felt beautiful."

Of her family and friends' reactions, she added: "They just sobbed.

"They're crying, they're like, 'I'm just so proud of you. This is so cool.'

"When I write songs about my feelings and my emotions and being vulnerable, I noticed it helps a lot of fans out there and that's the best superhero feeling ever."

Despite the cruel comments, the Mother hitmaker feels great after learning more about her diet and her body's needs during her two-year fitness journey.

She said: "I feel great. I have energy. I'm the healthiest I've ever been and the most fit. I had to learn what food was healthy for me and what was good for my digestion. I thought I was eating healthy for a while, and I learned that I had leaky gut and IBS and all these symptoms.

"I was like, 'This is exhausting. I was physically fit, but I can't gain muscle what's going on?'"
