Scott Watson is making another bid for freedom today, with a Parole Board hearing this morning

Scott Watson is making another bid for freedom today, with a Parole Board hearing this morning

Watson was jailed for life with a minimum 17-years non-parole period, for the 1998 murders of Olivia Hope and Ben Smart.

The 17 and 21-year-old disappeared after boarding a yacht early on New Years Day, in the Marlborough Sounds' Endeavour Inlet.

Their bodies have never been found.

Watson has always denied meeting the pair, and is still fighting to clear his name.

His previous parole hearing was adjourned last November, so the psychologists who wrote the 'confusing array' of reoffending risk assessments could appear.
