The lower South Island's been rattled by a moderate earthquake

The lower South Island's been rattled by a moderate earthquake

The magnitude six quake, struck 115 kilometres north-west of Snares Islands, well south of Stewart Island, at a depth of 12 kilometres, just before 1am.

    There is no tsunami threat.

But hundreds have felt the quake, including Newstalk ZB caller Glen, who was listening to an apocalypse audio book, when it suddenly got "a bit interactive".
