A vehicle registration scam from a group posing as the Wellington Cable Car has caught the attention of the Transport Agency

NZTA says the registration email scam, which came from an address claiming to be the cable car, told locals their rego was due, directing them to a fake website and asking for payment and driver licence details.

The agency is reminding people to be vigilant against scams.
