The presence of a marine biotoxin has been found in a range of frozen anchovies - with Pendarves Ltd recalling a specific range of the product

The Ministry for Primary Industries says testing of the product has found a neurotoxin that can cause a type of shellfish poisoning in humans.

It says the products should not be eaten but rather thrown out or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

The affected products were sold at a small number of supermarkets and speciality stores.
