Batting first, New Zealand set a total of 160, led by skipper and player of the match Sophie Devine and her unbeaten 57.
India would be bowled out for 102 in their chase.
Devine has praised her batting unit on Sky Sport, highlighting the work of openers Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer in steering the team to 55 without loss during the powerplay.
