An unconfirmed amount of money's been stolen in an aggravated robbery of a Cash in Transit van in north Auckland

Police say an offender approached security staff delivering cash to an ATM on Birkenhead Avenue, just before 2.30pm.

No one is injured, but the offender fled the scene with cash - believed to have used a vehicle.

Police have increased their numbers in Birkenhead - as they examine the scene.
