Police were called to a social housing block on Innes Road about 9 last night -- where a man found injured, later died.

The scene's being examined today, with areas taped off.

The Otautahi Community Housing Trust says it's contacting tenants, and support team members will visit when access is no longer restricted.

It says staff will assist Police as required.

Police confirm homicide detectives are speaking with a person who lived at the address with the deceased man.
