Three men are shaken up after their boat capsized in Banks Peninsula near Christchurch

Three men are shaken up after their boat capsized in Banks Peninsula near Christchurch

Coastguard, Police and a rescue helicopter sprang into action after a boat's engine failed, washing those onboard onto rocks at Little Akaloa Heads yesterday afternoon.

The two men were rescued off the rocks and the helicopter winched a third person.

Coastguard Sumner says it's a good reminder to make sure your boat is in good working order, and you're experienced for the conditions you're going out in.
