Iran-Israel conflict: Israel and Iran continue trading missile strikes, with explosions heard in Tehran

Iran and Israel have targeted each other with missiles and air strikes with warning sirens ringing out across both countries, as DFAT warns Australians in Israel and Iran to shelter. Follow live.

Iran and Israel have targeted each other with missiles and air strikes on Saturday after Israel launched its biggest-ever air offensive against Iran in a bid to prevent it from developing a nuclear weapon.

Iran described the Israeli strikes as "a declaration of war" and said dozens of Iranians had been killed.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is also urging Australians in Israel and Iran to shelter and follow the advice of local authorities, as attacks continue.
