Three Auckland property owners have been fined more than 40-thousand-dollars between them, for serious breaches of the Resource Management and Building Acts

They've been sentenced for two unconsented dwellings in Mission Bay and Northcote, due to their failure to comply with abatement and enforcement notices.

Auckland Council says they continued to profit from the properties while disregarding their legal responsibilities.

One woman's been fined almost 23-thousand-dollars, one man 13-thousand and the other seven-thousand.
