Tom Holland watched his beloved Tottenham Hotspur win the Europa League whilst filming The Odyssey

The Spider-Man star is a big fan of the Premier League club and recalled how he watched the closing stages of May's final against Manchester United as Spurs ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy in between takes on the set of Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic

Tom told GQ: "I was shooting Chris Nolan's movie in LA. We were not allowed our phones on set, so I was not aware of the score. I kept going to the sneaky crew members who I knew always had their phones and kept asking them for updates.

"I went to my trailer for lunch and caught the last 10 minutes of the game, and my celebration was coming back to the set full of energy and doing a really fantastic scene."

Tom was particularly pleased for Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min, who finally lifted his first piece of silverware with Spurs after a decade with the north London club.

The 29-year-old star said: "I was incredibly happy for Sonny. For me to see him win a trophy after years of dedication to our club... He really could have played with any club, he's a world class player. But he stuck with his roots and he stayed with Tottenham.

"Whatever he decides to do now, I think that he can stay at the club or move to another club with a great sense of pride. He'll always be a Tottenham legend."

The Odyssey is set to be released next year and Holland says that working on the much-anticipated picture has been "the job of a lifetime".

He said: "It was amazing. The job of a lifetime, without a doubt. The best experience I've had on the film set. Incredible. It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we've ever seen.

"Working with Chris, getting to know him and Emma (Thomas) was absolutely fantastic. I've never seen someone that can work the way they do, and there is a reason why they're the best in the business for sure.

"To get a front row seat to that and to be a part of the process and to collaborate with a true master of his craft and learn from him was the best experience I've ever had."

Tom added: "Matt Damon has always been a hero of mine, Anne Hathaway has always been a hero of mine. So to share scenes with them, to learn from them, to become friends with them, I couldn't have asked for a better job.

"And I'm so proud of the work I've done. I came to work every day with a real sense of purpose and a point to prove, and I'm so grateful for Chris to have given me that opportunity."
